How to remove stains from silk saree?

Clean immediately– As soon as a stain appears on the saree, immediately blot it with a clean white cloth or tissue by pressing it lightly. Keep in mind, rubbing the stain can spread it further and damage the saree.

Wash in cold water: Gently blot the stained area with cold water. Avoid hot water, as it can damage the silk fibers and set the stain.

Use mild shampoo– Mix mild baby shampoo or mild detergent in water. Apply this mixture gently on the stained area. Rub gently, and then wash with clean water. Do not forget to test on one corner of the saree before applying detergent, so that the color is not affected.

Natural remedy– If the stain is deep, use lemon juice or white vinegar. Apply it on the stain and leave it for 10-15 minutes, then wash it with cold water. This remedy is effective as well as protects the delicate fibers of the saree.

Dry Cleaning– If the stain is deep or home remedies are not successful, it is best to send the saree for dry cleaning. This is the safest way to maintain the beauty and quality of the saree.
