IVR based UPI service UPI123PAY has been launched by public sector Punjab National Bank. These services have been done under the goal of creating a cashless and cardless society by 2025, the vision of digital payments of the country. This was said in a statement issued by Punjab National Bank.

IVR based UPI 123PAY is a very advanced type of digital system in which you do not need to have internet access to make payments. Just one can easily do fast transactions without internet or in areas with low internet connectivity. With its help, UPI transactions can be done without internet even from phones with keypads.

UPI 123PAY has been created by NPCI to take UPI to rural areas . Through this, even a user having a feature phone can easily do digital transactions. According to an estimate, even today there are more than 400 million feature phone users in the country, who are not using smartphones.

To make UPI 123PAY accessible to as many people as possible, it has been launched in multiple Indian languages, so that anyone can understand it easily.

When did UPI start?

UPI was started in 2016. With the help of this one can easily transact without any delay in a jiffy. For this reason, it has become very popular in the last few years from villages to cities.

According to NPCI data, a total of 9.33 billion transactions were done through UPI in June, in which transactions of about Rs 14.75 lakh crore were done.
