Amrit Bharat Station Scheme: Under this scheme, three railway stations of the country were upgraded. Under this new facility, cashless transaction facility has been provided at both mobile and static catering places.

Indian Railway: Under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, 1275 railway stations in India have been identified for modernization. Regarding this, a meeting of the Parliament Consultative Committee was held in Delhi on Thursday under the chairmanship of Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav. Many MPs attended this meeting.

In this meeting, a resolution was taken to upgrade 1275 railway stations by the Consultative Committee of Members of Parliament. According to the official statement, in this meeting, plans were made to complete the services on the Indian Railways and the development and services of the country’s railway stations under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme.

Three railway stations upgraded

Officials said that under this new facility, cashless transaction facility has been provided at both mobile and static catering places. Along with this, third party audit was done to ensure the quality of catering. Under this scheme, three railway stations of the country have been upgraded so far. Rani Kamalapati in Madhya Pradesh, Gandhinagar in Gujarat and Sir M Visvesvaraya railway station in Karnataka have been modernised.

Catering facilities increased

It was told in the official statement that efforts are being made by the Indian Railways to provide adequate food and drink facilities in trains and stations for about 1.8 crore passengers traveling daily to provide quality food to the passengers. Passengers can also avail catering services from the mobile unit. Pantry car, mini pantry car and side wedding facility has been provided in 706 pairs of trains in 473 pairs of trains.

For this, 9342 small and 582 large units of Indian Railways, under which Jan Aahar outlets, food plazas, refreshment rooms have been set up. Along with this, it was said that IRCTC was given permission by the Ministry of Railways to decide the menu of catering services in trains, so that regional food, seasonal food can be made available to the passengers.
