The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has launched the revamped website of the Income Tax Department www.incometaxindia.gov.in to enhance the experience and keep pace with the new technology for taxpayers. Along with connecting taxpayers with new facilities, it will give the option of mega menu, under which users will get many options in the menu itself. The new website has been designed according to the mobile responsive layout.
The revamped website of the Income Tax Department allows users to compare various Acts. Apart from this, extra and new buttons have also been introduced. Revised National Website of Income Tax Department www.incometaxindia.gov.in has been given a facelift with friendly interface, value added services and new modules.
The newly revamped website was launched by Nitin Gupta, Chairman, Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) at the ‘Chintan Shivir’ organized by the Directorate of Income Tax in Udaipur. This website serves as a comprehensive repository of tax and other related information.
Ease of filing returns
It provides access to Direct Tax Laws, several other related Acts, Rules, Income Tax Circulars, all cross-referenced, hyperlinked and notifications. The site also offers a ‘Taxpayers Service Module’, which has tax tools available to assist taxpayers in filing their income tax returns. All these new features have been explained through virtual tours and new button prompts for the convenience of the website visitors.
Will be able to compare many rules and sections
To make the work of taxpayers more easy, new functions on this website allow users to compare various sections, rules and tax related things. Apart from this, information and links about other tax related portals have also been added. It has been said by CBDT that this is another initiative towards providing a better taxpayer service and it will help in making taxpayers aware.
