According to a report published in Times Now, Dr. LK Jha, who is the Associate Director and Head of the Cardiology Department of Asian Hospital, Faridabad, says that it is very important to recognize the symptoms of heart attack in time. If any sign appears in the body even 1 day or 10 days before, then consult a doctor immediately.

These are the signs

1. Feeling discomfort in the chest- Most heart attacks are caused by discomfort in the chest for more than a few minutes. It may also cause heaviness, pressure or discomfort in the chest.

2. Discomfort in the upper parts of the body- According to Dr. Jha, feeling pain or discomfort in one or both hands, back, neck, jaw or stomach are also possible signs of a heart attack, which needs to be understood.

3. Shortness of breath- If you are having trouble breathing with or without chest pain, it is also a sign that you may be having a heart attack.

Some other common signs include chills, cold sweats, nausea or dizziness, which warn of a heart attack.

What should old patients do?

If someone has had a heart attack before, how to take care of their health in the future. Answering this, the doctor has told that they can remain completely healthy by taking their regular medicines and adopting some habits. Such as-

  • Take prescribed medicines.
  • Keep getting follow-up treatment i.e. checkups from time to time.
  • Follow medical advice.
