Parliament Monsoon Session: The bill to replace the ordinance related to transfer and posting of Delhi officials was discussed in the Lok Sabha on Thursday (August 3). During this, while giving arguments in favor of the Bill, Union Home Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, Dr. B.R. Mentioned Ambedkar, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Rajaji and Rajendra Prasad.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah said, “There is a historical background. Establishment of Delhi In 1911, Mehrauli and Delhi were formed by separating two tehsils from the Punjab province by the British rule. Then in 1919 and 1935, the British government placed it under the Chief Commissioner’s Promise.
He further said, “After independence, the Pattabhi Sitaramaiah committee recommended giving state government status to Delhi. However, when this recommendation came before the House, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, Dr. B.R. Leaders like Ambedkar, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Rajaji and Rajendra Prasad opposed this and said that it would not be appropriate to give full statehood to Delhi.
What did Amit Shah say?
Referring to a discussion of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, Amit Shah said that Nehru had said that two years ago the House formed a committee. Now his report has come but now the world and India have changed. Delhi has also changed to a great extent. Therefore, we cannot accept the recommendations of the committee regardless of the changes that have taken place in Delhi.

How did the Congress respond?
On Amit Shah’s statement, Leader of Congress in Lok Sabha Adhir Ranjan Chowdhary said, “When you need, you take the help of former Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, but if you really take Nehru’s help, the Manipur violence and the violence happening in Haryana would have stopped.” Violence does not come to the fore.
