The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) had announced the withdrawal of Rs 2,000 notes from circulation. For this, the bank had also given time till 30 September 2023 to deposit the Rs 2,000 note in the bank. These notes will be valid till September 30.

2,000 note exchange process

  • If you have Rs 2,000 notes then you will have to visit any bank branch near you.
  • After this, you fill a form to exchange Rs 2,000 notes there.
  • Now submit the Rs 2,000 note along with the form.
  • Its process may be different in many banks.

Exchange limit

The central bank has also fixed an exchange limit of Rs 2,000. According to the bank, a person can deposit only Rs 20,000 a day. Whereas if you deposit Rs 2,000 notes then there is no limit.

Bank holiday

Banks will remain closed for about 16 days in the month of September. In such a situation, you must check the bank holiday list once before going to the bank . In the bank holiday list issued by the central bank, banks will remain closed for 16 days including Sunday,

second Saturday and fourth Saturday in different states of the country. Apart from this, banks will remain closed on 8 September 2023 due to the G-20 conference in the country’s capital Delhi.

Schools, colleges, malls and shops across Delhi will remain closed on 8th September, 9th September and 10th September.
