Tomato Price Reduced : Tomato became cheaper for the second time within a week, now it will be available at Rs 40 per kg

Tomato Latest Price: Tomatoes are being sold by NCCF and NAFED to people at cheap rates for about a month. Now the agencies have announced to reduce the rates further.

The government is constantly making efforts to provide relief to the common people from expensive tomatoes. Under these efforts, the prices of tomatoes, which are available at a discounted rate, have been further reduced. After this, from Sunday, August 20, people will be able to buy tomatoes only at the rate of Rs.40 per kg.

Cooperative agencies National Cooperative Consumers’ Federation of India Ltd (NCCF) and National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India Ltd (NAFED) on Sunday Information has been given to sell tomatoes at the rate of Rs 40 per kg.

Prices had reached Rs 250

Both the cooperative agencies have been providing tomatoes at subsidized rates to the common people in many cities of the country for about a month. In different cities of the country, the prices of tomatoes had reached Rs 200-250 per kg at one time. Now some softening is being seen in the prices of tomatoes in the wholesale and retail market. For this reason, the prices of tomatoes being made available by NCCF and NAFED at cheap rates are being reduced continuously.

Started at Rs 90 a kg

Both the cooperative agencies were initially providing tomatoes to the common people at the rate of Rs.90 per kg. After that, as the prices started decreasing in the open market, both the agencies kept reducing the prices of subsidized tomatoes. Earlier, the price of subsidized tomatoes was reduced to Rs 50 per kg from August 15. Now their prices will further reduce to Rs 40 per kg.

The people of these cities are getting benefits

NCCF and NAFED have so far made available more than 15 lakh kg of tomatoes to the common people at cheap rates.
