Stock Market Closing: The stock market closed with a decline in the last trading session of the week, but the index of mid-cap stocks rose

Stock Market Closing On 28 July 2023: On the first and last trading day of the August series, the Indian stock market again closed down due to profit booking. This decline has been seen in the market due to profit booking in banking and IT stocks. However, buying has been seen in mid cap and FMCG sector stocks. At the end of today’s trading, the BSE Sensex closed down by 107 points at 66,160 and the Nifty closed down by 14 points at 19,646 points.

Sectorol update

In today’s trade, stocks of banking, auto, IT sector closed higher. While buying has been seen in stocks of Pharma, Metals, Energy, FMCG, Media, Real Estate, Conjure Durables, Healthcare, Oil and Gas sectors. Midcap and smallcap stocks closed with gains. Of the 30 Sensex stocks, 16 closed with gains and 14 with losses. Whereas, out of 50 stocks of Nifty, 29 stocks closed up and 21 closed down.

Bullish stocks

In today’s trade, NTPC 4.11 per cent, Power Grid 3.09 per cent, JSW Steel 1.36 per cent, Mahindra & Mahindra 1.36 per cent, Bajaj Finance 1.23 per cent, Reliance 0.85 per cent, Asian Paints 0.85 per cent, ITC closed with a gain of 0.72 per cent. While HDFC Bank closed with a decline of 1.81 per cent, Bajaj Finserv 1.76 per cent, Tata Motors 1.66 per cent, TCS 1.21 per cent, HCL Tech 1.14 per cent, Axis Bank 0.967 per cent.

Rise in investor wealth

Even though there has been a decline in the stock market, there has been a boom in the wealth of the investors. The market cap of companies listed on BSE increased to Rs 304.07 lakh crore. Which was Rs 303.59 lakh crore in Thursday’s session. In today’s session, there has been a decrease of Rs 48000 crore in the wealth of the investors.
