Nifty Crosses 18000: The major feature of the stock market boom was that Nifty crossed 18000 again, while Sensex was successful in going above 61000.
Stock Market Closing On 28th April 2023: On the last day of the week and in the first trading session of the May series, the Indian stock market has closed at a brisk pace. Sensex crossed 61,000 while Nifty crossed 18,000 mark due to heavy buying by investors. At the end of today’s trading, the BSE Sensex closed at 61,112 with a gain of 463 points and the National Stock Exchange closed at 18,065 points with a jump of 150 points.
Condition of the sector
In today’s trade, there has been a rise in the shares of Banking, Auto, IT, Pharma, FMCG, Metals, Energy, Media, Infra, Healthcare, Oil and Gas sectors. Only the index of stocks in the consumer durables sector closed down. In today’s trade, the midcap index of Nifty closed with a gain of 1.34 per cent or 390 points. Stocks of Smock Cap Index have also seen a great growth. Out of 30 Sensex stocks, 22 closed with gains and 8 closed with losses. Out of 50 stocks of Nifty, 41 stocks closed with gains while 9 stocks closed down.

Bullish stocks
In today’s trade, Wipro closed with a gain of 2.89 per cent, Nestle 2.77 per cent, SBI 2.32 per cent, ITC 2.24 per cent, Larsen 2.24 per cent, Tech Mahindra 1.95 per cent. Among the fallers, Axis Bank closed down by 2.39 per cent, HCL Tech by 0.75 per cent, Titan Company by 0.70 per cent.
Big jump in investors’ wealth
Due to the spectacular boom in the stock market, a jump of more than Rs 2.50 lakh crore was seen. In Friday’s session, the market capitalization of the company listed on BSE has increased to Rs 271.71 lakh crore, which was Rs 269.07 lakh crore on Thursday. In today’s session, there has been a jump of Rs 2.64 lakh crore in the wealth of investors.
