Stock Market Closing On 14 September 2023: Wednesday’s trading session has been excellent for the Indian stock market. Nifty has closed above the record high of 20,100. So, strong recovery has been seen in midcap and smallcap stocks. At the end of today’s trading, BSE Sensex closed at 67,519 points with a jump of 52 points, while National Stock Exchange’s Nifty closed at 33 points.
Condition of the sector
In today’s trade, the Mid Cap index closed at 40,716 points with a jump of 471 points and the Small Cap index closed at 12,741 points with a jump of 165 points. Apart from this, shares of Banking, IT, Auto, Metals, Energy, Healthcare and Oil and Gas sectors closed sharply. While stocks of consumer durables, FMCG and media sectors closed down. Of the 30 Sensex stocks, 15 closed with gains and 15 with losses. Whereas out of 50 stocks of Nifty, 31 stocks closed with gains and 19 fell.

Investors’ wealth increased by Rs 2 lakh crore
Due to buying in mid cap and small cap stocks, there was a strong rise in the market and there was a jump in the wealth of investors. The market cap of companies listed on BSE was Rs 322.17 lakh crore which was Rs 320.23 lakh crore in the last trading session. That means, in today’s session, there has been an increase of Rs 1.94 lakh crore in the wealth of investors.
Rising and falling stocks
In today’s trade, Mahindra & Mahindra closed with a rise of 2.56 percent, Tata Steel 1.66 percent, Tech Mahindra 1.52 percent, Nestle 1.41 percent, Power Grid 0.98 percent, Union Bank 4.42 percent, Bank of India 3.57 percent. While Yes Bank closed with a fall of 1.13 percent, Bata India 0.74 percent, Nippon 0.44 percent.
