Share Market Update: There was a big fall in IT stocks led by Infosys on Monday and this trend continued even today.
Stock Market Closing On 19th April 2023: In the third consecutive trading session this week, the Indian stock market closed with a decline. IT and banking sector stocks are responsible for this huge fall in the market. At the end of today’s trading, the BSE Sensex fell by 160 points to 59,567 and the National Stock Exchange’s index Nifty fell by 41 points to close at 17,618 points.
Condition of the sector
Today again the IT sector has played a role in bringing down the market. The Nifty IT index closed at 26,687 points with a decline of 1.77 per cent. Apart from this, there has also been a decline in the shares of Bank Nifty, FMCG, Energy, sector. Although there has been a slight rise in the shares of metals, pharma, healthcare sector. Midcap and Smallcap indices also closed down. Out of 50 stocks of Nifty, 19 stocks advanced and 31 stocks closed down. While 9 out of 30 Sensex stocks closed 21 down sharply.

In today’s trade, Divis Lab 2.20%, BPCL 2.15%, Bajaj Auto 1.34%, Axis Bank 1.16%, Mahindra & Mahindra 0.90%, Eicher Motors 0.80%, HDFC 0.77%, Bharti Airtel 0.64%, Bajaj Finance 0.54% declined. Close with. While HCL Tech 2.36 per cent, Infosys 2.16 per cent, Wipro 1.93 per cent, SBI Life Insurance 1.93 per cent, NTPC 1.76 per cent, Asian Paints closed with a decline of 1.57 per cent in today’s session.
Investors’ wealth increased
In today’s trading session too, there has been a decline in the wealth of investors. The market capitalization of the company listed on BSE has come down to Rs 265.19 lakh crore, which was Rs 265.95 crore on Tuesday. Means the investors have suffered a loss of Rs 76000 crore.
