Stock Market Closing On 4 August 2023: After the continuous decline for the last three days, the last trading session of the week has been very spectacular for the Indian stock market. The market closed sharply due to buying in IT and banking stocks. Buying was also seen in mid cap stocks. At the end of today’s trading, the BSE Sensex closed at 65,721 with a gain of 480 points and the National Stock Exchange’s Nifty closed at 19,517 points with a jump of 136 points.
Sectorol update
In today’s trade, stocks of sectors like Banking, IT, Pharma, Metals, Real Estate, Energy, Infra, Consumer Durables, Healthcare, Oil & Gas closed with a boom. While only auto and FMCG stocks have seen a decline.
In today’s business, buying has also been seen in mid cap and small cap stocks. Out of 50 Nifty stocks, 30 closed with gains and 20 closed with losses. Whereas, out of 30 Sensex stocks, 18 closed with gains and 12 with losses.

Rise in investor wealth
Due to the spectacular boom in the stock market, there has been a jump in the wealth of the investors in today’s trade. The market cap of companies listed on BSE has reached Rs 304.04 lakh crore, while it was Rs 302.39 crore in the last trading session. In today’s session, a jump of Rs 1.65 lakh crore has been seen in the wealth of investors.
Bullish stocks
In today’s business, IndusInd Bank closed with a gain of 3.25 per cent, Tech Mahindra 2.91 per cent, Wipro 2.28 per cent, Bharti Airtel 2.02 per cent, HCL Tech 1.78 per cent, Axis Bank 1.59 per cent, HDFC Bank 1.48 per cent. While SBI closed down by 2.94 per cent, NTPC by 1.09 per cent, Maruti Suzuki by 0.96 per cent and Tata Motors by 0.69 per cent.
