Top10 Companies: Last week proved to be a great one for investors investing in the stock market. The boom that has returned in the market has filled the pockets of the investors. Due to this, the market capitalization (market cap) of eight of the top 10 Sensex companies increased by Rs 82,169.3 crore last week. Of these, HDFC Bank and HDFC got the maximum benefit.
Market open only for three days
Last week on Tuesday (April 4) ‘Mahavir Jayanti’ and on Friday (April 7) ‘Good Friday’ business was closed in the market. This means that during the last week there was normal trading in the market only on three days. In these three days of trading, the 30-share BSE Sensex gained 841.45 points, or 1.42 percent.
These two got huge benefits
Among the top 10 Sensex companies, eight including Reliance Industries, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), HDFC Bank, Hindustan Unilever, HDFC and ITC saw an increase in market capitalization (MCAP). HDFC Bank’s market capitalization rose the most by Rs 31,553.45 crore to reach Rs 9,29,752.54 crore during the week. At the same time, the market valuation of HDFC increased by Rs 18,877.55 crore and it became Rs 5,00,878.67 crore.
The status of these companies increased
The market capitalization of Bharti Airtel increased by Rs 9,533.48 crore to reach Rs 4,27,111.07 crore. The market capitalization of Reliance Industries, the largest listed company by value, increased by Rs 6,731.76 crore to Rs 15,83,824.42 crore and that of TCS rose by Rs 5,817.89 crore to reach Rs 11,78,836.58 crore.
Apart from these, the market valuation of ITC rose by Rs 4,722.65 crore to Rs 4,81,274.99 crore and that of State Bank of India (SBI) to Rs 4,71,174.89 crore with a gain of Rs 3,792.96 crore. The market capitalization of Hindustan Unilever increased by Rs 1,139.56 crore to reach Rs 6,02,341.22 crore.
The value of these two companies fell
On the other hand, the market cap of Infosys declined by Rs 2,323.2 crore to Rs 5,89,966.72 crore. At the same time, the market capitalization of ICICI Bank came down to Rs 6,10,751.98 crore with a loss of Rs 1,780.62 crore.
Top companies by value
Reliance Industries retained the first position in the list of top 10 companies. After that TCS, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Hindustan Unilever, Infosys, HDFC, ITC, SBI followed by Bharti Airtel respectively.
