Along with this, more than Rs 25,000 crore has been deposited in the special bank accounts opened by SEBI to repay the investors. SEBI has disclosed this in its annual report.

The rest of the applications were turned down due to non-traceability of their records in the data of two Sahara group firms – Sahara India Real Estate Corporation Limited (SIREL) and Sahara Housing Investment Corporation Limited (SHICL).
SEBI said that after the arrival of separate orders of the Supreme Court and the instructions related to the confiscation of the regulator, till March 31, 2023, it has been helped in recovering Rs 15,646.68 crore.
