Reliance Industries Update: After getting approval from the shareholders to include Isha Akash and Anant Ambani in the board, the process of handing over the responsibility to the next generation has started in Reliance.
Reliance Industries Update: Shareholders of Reliance Industries have approved the appointment of Isha Ambani, Akash Ambani and Anant Ambani as non-executive directors of the company. The company told the stock exchange in a regulatory filing that with an overwhelming majority, the proposal to appoint the three siblings as non-executive directors on the board of Reliance Industries has been passed.
More than 90 percent shareholders vote
Reliance Industries said in an exchange filing that the resolution was passed with majority on October 26, 2023. Isha Ambani has got a total of 98.21 percent votes, while Akash Ambani has got 98.06 percent votes while Anant Ambani has got a total of 92.67 percent votes.
Approval has already been received from the board
On August 28, 2028, in the AGM of Reliance Industries, the company’s Chairman Mukesh Ambani had announced that Isha, Akash, Anant Ambani will be included in the Reliance Industries Board as non-executive directors.
The proposal to include all three in the board had already been approved by the company’s board. But approval from shareholders was awaited. Now the shareholders of Reliance Industries have also approved the inclusion of the three siblings in the board. Nita Ambani had resigned from the board of Reliance Industries.
Preparation to hand over leadership to the next generation
Isha Ambani, Akash Ambani and Anant Ambani have been handling different businesses of Reliance Industries. Isha Ambani is responsible for Reliance Retail, apart from this she has been made a non-executive director on the board of Jio Financial Services.
While Akash Ambani is responsible for the telecom and digital business of Reliance Jio Infocomm, Anant Ambani is responsible for the energy business. While addressing the AGM in the month of August, Mukesh Ambani had said that he will prepare the next generation leadership of Reliance.
His biggest priority is the guidance of Akash, Isha and Anant. So that they can provide collective leadership and take the Reliance Group to new heights of development in the coming decades.
