Pitru Paksha 2024: Pitru Paksha or Shradh is about to begin. This year during Pitru Paksha, big events like lunar and solar eclipses will occur in the universe which are considered inauspicious in Hinduism.
Pitru Paksha 2024: The 16 days of Pitru Paksha or Shradh Paksha are considered most important for getting rid of Pitra Dosh, which starts from Bhadrapada Purnima 2024 to Ashwin Amavasya. Shradh, Tarpan and Pinddaan are important for the ancestors in the 16 dates of Pitru Paksha.
Let us tell you that this year Pitru Paksha is starting from 17 September. But the first Shradh will be performed on 18 September 2024. At the same time, Pitru Paksha will end on 2 October 2024. It is believed that during Pitru Paksha, the dead ancestors come to earth and meet their relatives. Whatever rituals the family performs during Pitru Paksha, the ancestors are satisfied and their debt is repaid.
However, this year’s Pitru Paksha is not being said to be auspicious. The reason for this is that this year, the shadow of eclipse (Grahan 2024) will remain on the day of the beginning and end of Pitru Paksha. In such a situation, the question arises whether the ancestors will accept the rituals performed during the eclipse or not.
These two events will happen in the universe during Pitru Paksha
On the first day of Pitru Paksha i.e. on September 18, the second lunar eclipse of the year (Lunar Eclipse 2024) will occur on Bhadrapada Purnima. However, this eclipse will not be visible in India. After this, on the last day of Pitru Paksha, on October 2, on Ashwin Amavasya, the last solar eclipse of the year (Solar Eclipse 2024) will occur, which will not be visible in India. Both the eclipses will be invisible in India, due to which Sutak will not be valid.
But in Hinduism, the event of eclipse is not considered auspicious. At the same time, when two eclipses occur in an interval of 15 days, then it is considered even more inauspicious. In such a situation, you will need to be very careful while performing the Shradh or Pind Daan of ancestors on the first and last day of Pitru Paksha.
Start Pratipada Shradh only after the Moksha Kaal ends on the first day of Pitru Paksha. On the last day, the solar eclipse will occur at night and rituals related to Pitru Paksha will be completed during the day. In such a situation, the solar eclipse will not have any effect on Pitru Paksha.
