Mustard Oil Price: After the formation of the Congress government in Himachal Pradesh, major decisions were taken one after the other. Amid rising inflation in the country, the state government has given a big relief to the public. Actually, the Sukhu government of Himachal has announced to give cheap mustard oil to the ration card holders of the state.
In fact, now the ration card holders in the state will be given mustard oil at Rs 110 per liter at government ration centers. That is, mustard oil has become cheaper by Rs 37 for the beneficiaries in the state. CM Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu announced this on Friday.
BPL beneficiaries used to get oil at this price
Before June 2023, under the Antyodaya Anna Yojana, BPL beneficiaries were given mustard oil at Rs 142 per litre. On the other hand, those above the poverty line (APL) used to get mustard oil at Rs 147 per litre. The CM said that this decision was taken to provide relief to all the people of the society. According to the state government, there are a total of 19,74,790 card holders in the state, who are being provided food items from 5,197 centres.
State government will be benefited
Earlier the state government used to give a subsidy of Rs. Now the subsidy of Rs 10 has been reduced on mustard oil. This will benefit the state government to the tune of Rs 4 lakh crore monthly.
The state government in Shimla said the CM said that the government is committed to provide quality food grains to the beneficiaries of the public distribution system. Let us tell you that in March, a big increase has been seen in the figure of import of edible oil. In March 2023, the import of edible oil increased by 8 percent to 11.35 lakh tonnes. The import of edible oil stood at 11,35,600 tonnes in March.
