Mahakumbh 2025: How does Kumbh inspire an ordinary person to become great?

Mahakumbh 2025: Crores of people have taken the royal bath in Mahakumbh so far. Why is Kumbh Mela so famous, its glory and meaning both have been described in the scriptures.

Mahakumbh 2025: So far, about 7 crore Sanatanis have taken bath in the Kumbh of Prayagraj. Through this article, we will know why Kumbh is beneficial for all Sanatanis, irrespective of their caste or sect.

First of all, let us know the meaning of Kumbh. The word ‘Kumbh’ generally means a pitcher, but behind it lies the inspiration of creative goodwill, good wishes and salvation of the people to create eligibility in the community.

In fact, the word ‘Kumbh’ contains within itself the welfare meaning of the entire creation –

‘For the purpose of giving the upcoming information of welfare to the earth or for indicating the auspicious future, the planets like Jupiter etc. should be present in the Nirmal Mahakaash for the purpose of special holy places like Haridwar, Prayag etc., in which it is called ‘Aquarius’.

Apart from this, other public welfare sentiments can also be seen in the meaning of the word ‘Kumbh’.

In the Puranas, the Kumbh festival has been established in the number of twelve, out of which four are for the world of death and eight for the world of gods.

The purpose of creation of Aquarius is to remove the sins of the human beings on earth. This festival takes place every twelfth year in all four places – Haridwar, Prayag, Ujjain and Nashik. During these festivals, all the communalists from all the states of India come to take bath, meditate, worship etc.

The land of India, surrounded by alkaline sea, is naturally tainted with the taint of impurity. This is a land washed with holy water. From the geographical point of view, the Amrit Kumbh was established in its four sacred places, which emerged from the churning of the ocean.

From the temporal point of view, such planetary conjunctions that make the immortality hidden and dormant in the sky visible and enlightened, appear in all the four places after twelve years, i.e., through the twelve-year period of time conjunction. Then, Ganga (Haridwar), Triveniji (Prayag), Shipra (Ujjain) and Godavari (Nashik) – these purifying rivers flow immortality in their water streams. That is, place, time and object, all three become suitable for the emergence of nectar. As a result, the Amrit Ghat or Kumbh descends.

The time cycle is not only the basis of the activities of life; but all the yajnas, rituals and rites etc. are also based on the time cycle. The Sun, Moon and Devguru Brihaspati have an important place in the time cycle. The conjunction of these three is the main basis of the Kumbh festival.

When Jupiter is in Aries and Moon and Sun is in Capricorn, then a very rare Kumbh takes place on Amavasya Tithi in Prayag. In this situation, all the planets are friendly and auspicious. When friends and noble people meet in our life, only then good and auspicious thoughts arise and this combination is pleasant in our life.

On the occasion of Kumbh, followers of all the sects inspired by Indian culture and religion gather and discuss for the unity, integrity and inviolability of their society, religion and nation. The holy atmosphere of bathing, donation, tarpan and yagya does not fail to attract even the gods.

It is believed that on this great festival, all the gods and other ancestors-Yaksha-Gandharva etc. come on earth and purify not only humans but also all living beings with their holy presence and at the same time the presence of divine saints here makes this land like heaven.

Such saints come here who are seen only in Kumbh and as soon as Kumbh ends, these divine saints suddenly go to some unknown place which no one has known till date. According to Swami Anjani Nandan Das, these unknown saints are the gods of heaven who come to earth to bless humans. Only with their blessings, the life of humans will be blessed who are suffering from their busyness and depression.
