Kharmas 2024: 14th or 15th March, when will Kharmas be celebrated? Know why auspicious works are not done

Kharmas 2024: Kharmas is not considered auspicious in Hindu religion. Kharmas occurs when Sun God enters Sagittarius and Pisces. Sun God stays in one zodiac sign for 30 days. Kharmas comes twice a year. The Sun remains in the signs of Jupiter twice a year for one month each. These include Sagittarius from December 15 to January 15 and Pisces from March 15 to April 15. Auspicious works are not done during Kharmas.

Sankranti is celebrated on the date of Sun God leaving one zodiac sign and entering another. The lord of Sagittarius and Pisces is Jupiter. Sun God will transit in Pisces in the month of March. When will Kharmas start?

In the month of March, on March 14, Sun God will leave Aquarius and enter Pisces at 12:36 pm. Kharmas will start with the Sun God leaving Aquarius and entering Pisces.

When will Kharmas end?
On April 13, Sun God will move out of Pisces and enter Aries. Kharmas will end with the entry of Sun God into Aries.

Why are auspicious works not done in Kharmas?

It is believed that when the Sun enters the Jupiter’s zodiac sign Sagittarius or Pisces, then it becomes engaged in the service of its Guru. During this period their influence reduces, hence no auspicious work is done during this period. The period of Kharmas is considered inauspicious for auspicious works. In this auspicious work, marriage, mundan, housewarming, all the works related to marriage come to a halt.
