Income Tax Return: Income tax filing time is going on in the country and 31 July 2023 is the last date for ITR filing. The Income Tax Department is repeatedly reminding taxpayers to file ITR by 31 July 2023.
Although this year’s ITR filing figures are encouraging and the Income Tax Department has given information by tweeting about it.

The Income Tax Department has said through a tweet today that ‘we are happy to inform that till date (July 11) a total of more than 2 crore income tax returns have been filed for the assessment year 2023-24. .
Comparing this with last year, 2 crore ITRs were able to be filed by 20 July 2022. Our taxpayers have helped us to touch this 2 crore milestone 9 days ago. Compared to last year, this figure is good and we appreciate the efforts of taxpayers.
We are happy to inform that over 2 crore Income Tax Returns (ITRs) for AY 2023-24 have already been filed till 11th of July this year as compared to 2 crore ITRs filed till 20th of July last year.

The Income Tax Department also said that we urge those who have not filed their ITR for the assessment year 2023-24 to file it as soon as possible so that last minute rush can be avoided.
1 crore ITRs were filled till June 26
The Income Tax Department had earlier also given information about 1 crore ITR files through a tweet. The Income Tax Department had told that by June 26, 2023, one crore taxpayers had filed income tax returns. While in the last assessment year 2022-23, one crore taxpayers had filed income tax returns by July 8, 2023.
