Hospital Charges Hike: The Central Government has made changes in many charges under health schemes. About 42 lakh people will get relief from this. Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has increased the consultation fee and room rent limit under the Health Scheme-Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS). Explain that the central government gives concession under schemes in private hospitals.
Under the Central Government Health Schemes, it works to provide primary health care to central government employees, pensioners and selected beneficiary groups as well as their dependents. According to Mint’s report, under these schemes, 42 lakh registered people can get treatment in private hospitals with a discount. At present, more than 1,670 private hospitals and 213 labs are listed under the health schemes of the central government. It has many major hospitals like Medanta, Fortis, Narayan, Apollo, Max and Manipal. Speaking on this move of the government, CGHS Working Group Coordinator Dr. Girdhar Gyani said that we were expecting a hike of 25 to 30 per cent, as it was not changed in 2014. He said that this is a minor increase.
