Maha Mumbai Metro Operation Corporation Limited (MMMOCL) is now going to guarantee the passengers a comfortable journey as well as safety. MMMOCL has decided to provide accident insurance policy to passengers in Metro Line 7 and 2A. This will be an annual insurance policy through which Mumbai Metro Corporation will ensure the safety of its passengers. Through this policy, passengers will get the benefit of coverage for disability and death due to an accident.

Significantly, this insurance policy was discussed even before the commencement of Metro Line 7 and 2A of Mumbai. Lakhs of people travel through this route every day. With this, they will also get freedom from road traffic. In such a situation, Mumbai Metro has decided to provide accident insurance to increase the use of Metro among the people and to provide them security. MMMOCL has decided to give annual insurance to the people running on these lines. With this, the journey of metro will become even more safe.
No extra charge will be taken
According to the information given by MMMOCL, passengers will not have to pay any separate fee for this accident insurance. All those who are traveling with a valid ticket in the metro will get the benefit of this insurance. Apart from this, people traveling with pass, QR code, smart card or valid permission will also get the benefit of this accident insurance. According to the report of IANS, this insurance cover will not be available for accidents happening outside the metro station such as parking area, cab stand, foot over bridge and cycle stand.
Know how much insurance cover will be available
The benefit of this insurance cover will be available only if there is any kind of accident in the metro station or train. In this, the benefit of insurance cover will be available in case of disability and death. Through this insurance, passengers will get an insurance cover of Rs 1 lakh if they are injured in an accident. At the same time, for showing in OPD, a maximum fee of up to Rs 10,000 will be received. On the other hand, you will get a fee of Rs 4 lakh on permanent or partial disability and up to Rs 5 lakh in case of death of the passenger.
