ESI Scheme : In May 2023, a total of 15.14 lakh new subscribers have been added to the Employees State Insurance Scheme, a scheme run by the Employees State Insurance Corporation (ESIC). According to the data released by the National Statistical Commission on Tuesday, this data is only a part of the recruitment report in the country. According to this data, gross new enrollment has increased to 1.67 crore in the financial year 2022-23.
So many subscribers added in six years
Whereas last year this figure was 1.49 crore. Talking about the financial year 2020-21, in that year 1.15 crore, in the year 2019-20 1.51 crore and in the year 2018-19 this 1.49 crore people were associated with this scheme. In such a situation, a total of 8.42 crore subscribers have been connected to the ESI scheme in about six years. Significantly, these figures of the National Statistical Commission depend on the number of subscribers of different social schemes of ESIC, Employees’ Provident Fund Organization and Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA).
So many people associated with EPFO
Talking about EPFO figures, a total of 16.30 lakh people are associated with this organization in the month of May. New members were added. In April 2023, the number of new subscribers was Rs 17.20 lakh. According to the new data released by the government, during May 2022, about 16.80 lakh new employees were added to EPFO. According to the rules, firms with more than 20 employees can provide data to ESI and retirement fund managers. In such a situation, these figures give an idea of the creation of new jobs in the market.
So many people joined the pension scheme
It is worth noting that there are many employees who register themselves for several government schemes like EAI and EPFO at the same time. In such a situation, many times the figures are not accurate. According to government data, a total of more than 44 lakh employees have subscribed to NPS, state government and different corporate pension schemes between September 2017 and April 2023. In such a situation, these figures show that lakhs of jobs have been created in the organized sector of the country in the last few years.
