UPI Payment For Delhi Metro Ticket: If you travel by Delhi Metro, now the government has added UPI facility for you. Under this, you can easily book tickets and travel. Even if you do not have cash, you can easily book tickets and tokens with the help of UPI. This has been announced by DMRC and it has been said that you can use UPI at vendor machines and counters.

With the addition of UPI facility, passengers can now use mobile applications to make direct payments for smart card recharge and Metro QR ticket purchases at stations across the Delhi-NCR network.

TVM facility started in 2018

According to a DMRC statement, DMRC was the first metro system in the country to initially introduce this UPI facility on select Ticket Vending Machines (TVMs) on the Noida and Ghaziabad sections in 2018. Now it is being extended to the rest of the network. TVM has already been upgraded at more than 125 stations in the Metro network. This facility is helpful in improving and speeding up ticketing services. In addition it provides a secure way of booking.

How to get token from Ticket Vending Machine (TVM) using UPI

  • First select the service you want to use on the Ticket Vending Machine (TVM)
  • Ticket Vending Machine offers multiple modes of payment, one of which is UPI
  • Now a QR code will appear on the screen of the ticket vending machine
  • After this you can scan it and pay

Use of UPI at Customer Care Center

Passengers can tell the operator that they want to pay through UPI in the payment options menu at the Customer Service Centre. Now after UPI is confirmed as the preferred method, the PID screen will show a QR code. You can then pay using the smartphone and take the token.
