According to a news from ET, now the passengers of Delhi Metro are going to get the facility of shopping on the go during the journey. For this, DMRC is working on a new plan, which is to add the experience of traveling in Delhi Metro as well as the experience of shopping for groceries or other essential items in a mall. For this, a virtual shopping app (Delhi Metro Virtual Shopping App) will be launched soon.
App will be launched next month
According to the news, DMRC’s Momentum 2.0 app (DMRC Momentum 2.0) may be launched next month. You will be able to shop for things of your choice from this app while traveling in Delhi Metro. You will be able to collect the purchased goods at the destination station. In this way, you will not need to take out separate time for shopping. While coming home from office, you will be able to make necessary purchases while walking on the way.
Many features will be available in the app
This app of Delhi Metro will also reduce your dependence on Ola-Uber. Not only will you enjoy shopping on this app, but through this you will also be able to book cab-autos to reach your home from the last station. Apart from this, this app will also provide facility from recharging metro card to recharging fastag and paying bills ranging from insurance to electricity.
Starting from 21 stations now
From next month, this facility will be started from 21 stations of Delhi Metro. For this, virtual stores and smart lockers are being installed at these stations. There will be 72 lockers in the smart locker facility, in which 24 more lockers can be added later. Passengers will get the ordered goods in these lockers only. Before launching the app, its testing work is also going on.
Big business expected
DMRC believes that a large number of people travel by Delhi Metro every day, in such a situation, a lot of business can come from this scheme. Delhi Metro officials feel that there are possibilities of expanding this facility to all metro stations.
