Delhi To San Francisco Flight: On behalf of Air India, said that on June 6, the Delhi-San Francisco flight will refund the entire amount to the passengers affected by the diversion due to disturbances.
Air India’s Chief Customer Experience and Ground Handling Officer Rajesh Dogra told passengers who reached their destination after 56 hours that “we will refund your fare in full. Also, you will be provided with a voucher for future travel on Air India.” do.’
Aircraft landed in Russia due to technical glitch
Let us tell you that on June 6, Air India’s flight number AI 173, Delhi-SFO had 216 passengers and 16 crew members on board. The Boeing 777-200LR was diverted to Magadan port in Russia after an air fault in one of its engines. The airline then sent a ferry flight from Mumbai to Magadan. This flight took the stranded passengers and crew members to San Francisco.
Passengers reached San Francisco on June 8.
This plane landed in Magadan at 6.14 am (local time), took off on June 8 itself and reached San Francisco at 12.07 am. Apart from expressing regret for the inconvenience caused due to the technical glitch, the airline also apologized for the delay caused to the customers.
On behalf of Air India, it was told that ‘there was a technical problem in the aircraft, due to which the pilots got an indication of low oil pressure in one engine. Taking precautions, they decided to land the aircraft at a nearby airport instead of continuing the journey.
