Air India Express: On one hand giant companies like Amazon, Twitter and Meesho are laying off employees citing recession. On the other hand, Air India and Air Indian Express have given jobs to thousands of people in this difficult time. Air India chief Campbell Wilson said that the airline and Air India Express have recruited more than 3,900 people so far this year. He said that these include more than 500 pilots and more than 2,400 crew members.

Airline continuously improving operations

Air India is continuously improving its operations under the leadership of Tata Group. Along with the fleet, the operations are also being expanded. In a message to Air India employees, the CEO and MD of Air India said, “Since the beginning of this year, more than 500 pilots, 2400 crew members and 1,000 other employees have been recruited by AI and AIX. ‘

Excellent work done to enhance capabilities

He also said that excellent work has been done to enhance recruitment and training capabilities. Air India (AI) has around 11,000 employees and Air India Express (AIX) has around 1,900 employees. These also include employees with third party contracts. Earlier, Air India has given more time to its pilots to accept the revised compensation structure. However, this structure has been opposed by the pilot unions.

Earlier, the deadline for accepting the new contract had ended on 30 April. The decision to extend the deadline was taken at a time when the crisis-hit GoFirst has stopped flying. The source also said that around 800 pilots, who did not accept the new structure, attended the town hall on 4 May.
